After years working the mountain West at larger civil firms, we started Ansom Outdoor for a simple reason: the best projects deserve senior attention from start to finish — not a rotating cast of junior staff.
We stay deliberately small. That means we take on fewer projects, dig deeper into each one, and put the people who designed the work on the ground during construction.

Site first
The ground writes the brief. We spend time walking it before we spend time drafting.
Senior work only
The engineer you hire is the one on your plans, in the field, and on the phone.
Straight talk
If a project doesn't pencil, we say so early. Nobody wins from optimistic estimates.
Built to last
Mountain infrastructure has to survive snow, runoff, and use. We design for the fifty-year problem, not the two-year permit.
